DIY Submerged Flower Centrepieces PDF Print
Wednesday, 14 January 2015 11:11

Looking for an affordable yet elegant way to incorporate artificial flowers into your wedding centrepieces? We've got you covered! Gorgeous fresh buds can be costly and can start wilting or looking less-than-spectacular before your big night is done. This centrepiece idea nixes both of those real flower conundrums and will help keep your wedding budget from becoming limp. See below for our tutorial:

What you'll need:

· Artificial flowers

· Floral wire

· Glass vase

· Small washers

· Decorative rocks (or anything that will work to fill the bottom of the vase and cover the washer and the stems)

· Distilled water

alt alt

Start by gathering your flowers into a neat bundle. Tie floral wire around the very bottom of the stems to keep them secure and together.

alt alt

Leave approximately one to two inches of floral wire hanging to secure the washers. Tie the washers to the wire so the flowers don't float to the top once you add water to the vase.

alt alt

Place the flowers with the washers into the vase and add decorative stones or pebbles around the stems.

                                                          alt

Add water into the vase (hint: try using distilled water instead of tap water. The distilled water doesn't create bubbles around the flowers and will look clearer for a longer period of time). The result is stunning centrepieces that are affordable and will last all night long!

Are you planning to use artificial flowers in your wedding?

DIY Cedar Wreath Name Tags PDF Print
Tuesday, 23 December 2014 13:38

Themed weddings are all about the small details. Planning a wintery wedding? These cedar wreath name cards are a beautiful and fitting detail that will work to help make your big day stunning and truly unique. See below for our tutorial.

alt alt

What you'll need:

· Cedar sprigs

· Floral wire (optional)

· Ribbon or twine

· Name tags (I used paper tags that look like flags)

alt alt

Start by shaping your cedar sprig into a circle. If you have floral wire, secure the two ends together. If not, wrap the ribbon or twine around the ends so they stay together.

alt alt alt

Next, write guest names on your tags. I put a little bend in the tag so it fits into the greenery better. Tuck the tag into the wreath.

                                                               alt

Perfectly wintery! I also tried incorporating pine sprigs!

What kind of name tags are you going to use for your wedding?

DIY Candle Table Numbers PDF Print
Wednesday, 17 December 2014 19:36

Stunning table numbers can work to transform your reception tables into something extra special! But with so many options and different styles to choose from, narrowing down the perfect table number for your wedding can be tough! Behold our DIY candle table numbers! They're completely customizable so no matter what kind of theme, colour palette or style you're working with, you'll be able to create a candle that fits into your wedding perfectly! See below for our tutorial.

alt alt

What you'll need:

· White pillar candle

· Tissue paper

· Wax paper

· Hair dryer/ heat gun

· Scissors

· Computer and printable table number design. I found mine at Wedding Chicks and Hello! Lucky

alt alt alt

Print the design of your choice onto a piece of tissue paper (I found the easiest way to do this it to tape the tissue paper onto a piece of white paper). Cut away any excess tissue paper. Place the design onto your candle.

alt alt alt

Cover the tissue paper with wax paper and hold it tight so the design doesn't slip. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to "melt" the tissue paper design onto the candle. Hold the hair dryer as close to the candle as possible for three to four minutes. Careful, it gets really hot!

alt alt

Gently peel the wax paper away. The tissue paper design should be melted into the candle so there should be no seams around the edges. Incorporate your DIY candle table number into your tablescape for a one-of-a-kind detail that is sure to impress guests!

Try different designs to match your wedding theme and style!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
